Happy St. Patty's day! (a day late)

Yes, I know it was yesterday, but yesterday was so crazy!
The boys had appointments at 10am, so of course we got there like 20 minutes early,
but didn't actually get in until after 1130! Ugh it was so frustrating!
I'm really wondering why they make appointment times if they can't keep them.Anyway, Ay got two shots and was SUCH a trooper! Caleb got a fingerprick and
it was basically the end of the world. Hahaha.

Amazing how 2 boys from the same parents, can be so totally opposite!
After shots, we usually take them to a playplace, or something special for
what they had to go through, but this time we had to just grab Chikfila for lunch and
bring the hubs home to his truck so he could leave for work, and the boys & I went & ate lunch at the house. The boys were happy though, because I had told them we had
a few special things to do at home!

Then, they played a bit, and we did one of our special St. Patty's day things,
which was a fruit rainbow!

You just need fruits of all different colors.
Fruit is a beautiful thang!
First we layered on the strawberries..
Then cantaloupe!
And then to make sure we were doing things right, Caleb went to get his Bible,
to look at a picture of the Rainbow. LOL Too cute.
SO then came the pineapple!
And grapes, and blueberries!
Then we added the marshmellows and sliced banana for the
clouds and pot o' gold!
Perfect!
The boys loved it, and continued eating and yapping to each other about rainbows.
:)
Then it was naptime, but a very very QUICK naptime! Ok, so like and hour & a half for Ayden, and an hour for Caleb,
but hey, I'm used to WAY longer than that!

They woke up asking about more St. Patty's day treats, so they ate dinner
and we started right away!

We mixed a box of white cake mix together as directed on the box,
and got the cup cake liners in the pan.
Thanks to a friend who told me about this about a year ago, we use applesauce instead of veggie oil, it's SO much better for you, and makes the cake so moist!!
Annd..there's Ay licking the batter after we separated it into 6 bowls.. that boy!
We then colored it the colors of the rainbow!
And started adding the colors one by one, it was easier that way with the boys wanting to help,
which was very interesting with these cupcakes.
Here's Cbear concentrating very hard on adding the green. :)
And like 15 minutes later (LOL) we were done! Ready to pop in the oven!
See what a mess we made?
Aren't they purty?

The boys loved them!
They kept saying, a rainbow, a rainbow!
I thought they were pretty tasty too. :)
Then they went and played outside with their trucks while I got the kitchen cleaned up.
So not fair! I wanted to play too! haha

I gave them a bath, and then we worked on the craft.
A leprechaun hat!

First they colored a styrofoam bowl with green marker..
while I cut out black strips and gold buckles.
Then we cut and glued the strips and buckles on!
I helped Ay,
while Cbear did it all on his own, even cutting the strips!
What a crafty 4 year old :)
So cute!
Happy St. Patty's Day everyone!
Hope you had a fun filled one like we did!
