Holy Cucumbers Batman!

Oh yes, another garden update! We are having SO much fun with our garden.

The boys go out every morning to check on how things are doing,

and it's a good thing they do, because everything is growing like crazy!

We have five little gorgeous watermelon coming along..

The boys are so proud, as you can tell! :)

Our peppers are growing quite rapidly also!

And for the cucumbers! We picked our first one last week when this pic was taken.

See how HUGE it is?! Man, it was delicious.

Ay picked one too!

 Right now we have about 4 ready to pick (just picked one last night for salad, actually)

and there are like 14 little ones growing! Then tons of blooms ready to produce little ones!

We will never have lack of cucumbers this summer!

It's good that we all love them :)

And here's one more pic, because it's cute. Our lab, Dixie broke off one of the pieces of the fence 

protecting the garden, so that's how the boys get in & out! LOL

For Cbear it's easy, but for Ay-man it's a bit more difficult.

But he always wants to " do it by my yelf" in his language. :)

How does your garden grow?

Ours is doing magnificent! We are loving watching the garden expand, it's a great learning 

tool for the kids.

Going from left to right, we have the peppers first. Darryl recently had 

to buy this little gate thing to enclose them since the cucumbers were taking over the place! LOL

We just got our first bell pepper starting to sprout out! So cute. LOL

And here are the crazy cucumbers!

We are going to have to buy something for them to grow up, because they are

just taking off!

They are flowering ALOT!! We should have a ton of beautiful cucumbers very soon!

Cannot wait.

And then the last in the garden box are the watermelon.

We go to our local farmer's market and get a watermelon at least once a week.

We can't wait for the day we can get one from our own backyard!

They are growing really well!

And last, but not least are our tomatoes in the topsy turvy. We now have 4!

Cannot wait to eat one. mmmmm.

We love our garden, and we are very happy with the results for our first year of doing it.

Dixie loves to sit next to it right under the tree for some shade.

Even SHE loves the garden! ;)

Operation garden relocation!

You might remember the post I made about planting our very first vegetable garden!

Sadly, our dog Dixie got in it and dug some of the things up, AND we realized the garden was too much in the shade. So, a few weeks ago, we got the remaining plants out of the first area and replanted them where they would be more in the sun, and in a fully fenced area!

They have grown alot just in a few weeks!

I'm so excited about some fresh veggies!

And here are the herbs in a pot out front. I've already used some of the cilantro for homemade salsa, 

it was great!!

The makings of our garden!

So, one of Darryl's friends from work is a landscaper, and he

was nice enough to bring us a ton of dirt and help us

move the railroad ties to where they needed to go!

He also scored points with the boys by letting them ride on the tractor.

SO fun!

They loved this, & didn't want to get off.

They also loved playing in the dirt!

They were so into this gardening thing! Ok maybe just the playing in the dirt thing...

Caleb was using a spray bottle at first to help water the plants as Daddy put them in

the ground..

And. well.. everyone has their own way of watering their gardens.

Some with a hose, some with a water gun.

Don't hate!

After Daddy was done with the hose, Caleb decided to make a water slide.

Ayden was napping at this point, he would have loved it though.

Anyway, I hope that our garden does well! This is the first year

we have ever done one, and we are really excited!

Here's to growth & veggies! :)

So maybe I was a little insane...

When thinking of starting to grow all of our veggie plants

BEFORE our month long trip away?

Hahaha, here are the ones I've had to transplant because of

how much they've grown.

Pretty amazing huh? Can't wait to put these in the ground!
And here are the ones still in the jiffy pots growing!
Going home tomorrow, and will get to the gardening on Thursday!
So exciting!!

Now I get to bring all of these with me on the trip!

Speaking of growth, my boys got weighed & measured at their appointments yesterday.

Ayden: 37.5 inches tall and 27 pounds! He's so light. :)

Caleb: 43.5 inches and a whopping 45 pounds! He's gonna be the football player. hahaha

They are growing so fast! Make it stop!
