Homeschooling--Week 5!

Yesterday we actually just finished week 8, but I'm only on week 5 of updating with our school here on the blog! It has been SO busy here with soccer, awana, trips out of town, photography, church, pregnancy, and just life in general! We've been enjoying it though.

On week 5, I decided to take some pics of our morning board time. We do this *about* every morning. If Daddy's home in the morning that day and we have plans we sometimes skip this step, but other than that, we do it! The boys seem to enjoy it alot.  We go over the days of the week, the spelling of our names, Bible verses, what the weather's like that day, the color of the day, the date, and the actual day (ie. Tuesday) of the week it is. We then read a story out of their Bible and then head to the table for our schoolwork.

Here is Ay man working on the letter D! HE's getting really good at recognizing the letters we've been through so far. He did awesome at differentiating the little d from the big D, and is still LOVING those dot to dot markers.

His Melissa & Doug firetruck puzzle is one of his favorites. It makes the fire engine noise when he finishes. Pretty cute. :)

Caleb's still in the repetition stage of learning for K5. Still going over short vowel sounds and lots of blends..

In math he's working on patterns and filling in the numbers missing in number sequencing. He does it without issue, so I want to speed him along, but have to remember to take it slow and just go according to the book. LOL

This pic makes me smile because the boys were outside playing, and Caleb came running in, SO excited that a leaf had fallen and it had changed colors! He knew it meant the sign of Fall being just around the corner!
We are breezing right through his science book. I'm going to have to get some additional science material after we finish this one, but Caleb really likes learning about all of the different things. This week was seeds and he was amazed that acorns were actually seeds! He wanted to go plant a bunch so we could have lots of trees in the backyard. Haha.

That's it for week 5. The weeks following this I was HORRIBLE about taking pictures because it got SO busy, but I'll be posting the ones I did take soon! I think one of the weeks I went an entire week without taking any of school. Whoops! The life of a busy momma.
