Getting ready for school!

For more than a month now, I've been preparing for school with my boys!

Cbear will be in Kindergarten, and Ay-man in 3 Year old preschool!

I have stocked up on supplies and containers, and have used the bottom half of my hall closet for our school storage spot.

On the first shelf is most of our art stuff, flue, do a dot markers, popsicle sticks, fuzzy dots, our calendar stuff, phonics blocks, wooden ABC's, some little shapes for counting, dice, & much much more. LOL

The second shelf has these containers I got from lowe's for like $5 (yep all 4 of em!)

I labeled them and have stuff neatly put in there. Our blend charts are under them, and this is where the kids colors and stencils go also.

I actually got this storage bin in hopes to do workboxes, but come to find out I really need it for storage for Caleb's books, and flashcards for this year! To the right of it is both of their binders with up to 9 weeks of work put together and ready! Cbear's has 9 weeks, and Ay's has 5 weeks worth. I have some more work to do with his today.

The green binder to the left is Cbear's curriculum for phonics, reading, writing, and numbers.

There are also 2 tot trays and 2 other deeper trays to use for things we work on that we don't want to spill.

This is everything Cbear will be doing this year! It's alot, but we'll have fun with it!

And here's a peak inside. I put all the weeks worth of work in one plastic protector, and the days are separated by paper clips. Cbear's material is all Abeka.

We are using the A-Z curriculum from Erica at Confessions of a Homeschooler.

If you've never heard of her, or never been to the site, go now! She's amazingly talented,

and is so giving with all the work she does! All I had to do was print this stuff, and laminate what I chose to! And the whole curriculum is a steal at only $10!

I think this is PERFECT for Ayden, because I really want him to just have fun learning right now,

and not really stress it. He's not even 3 yet (will be next month!) but he REALLY

wants to do school like Caleb, so this is just the thing for him.

Here's our morning board I put together. I got the wonderful idea from Carisa over at 1+1+1=1.

I used some of her printables, and also typed out my own using her ideas. I LOVE the thought of going through this every morning to teach the boys the days of the week, the date, a Bible verse, and other things in a fun way. We start tomorrow, as you can tell from the date on there!!

We don't have room for a huge calendar like hers, but we did pick up this neat magnetic one 

at Target for only $10! I put it in our hallway, next to our Melissa & Doug magnetic ABC/dry erase board.

Here's a close up of the calendar. It has lots of cool things you can add on there, like this month we have pet's birthday (Dixie just turned 1), pizza party (Daddy made his homemade wheat pizza that day), return library books, get haircut (boys needed them), rainy day, and first day of school! I'm sure we'll have more to add as the month goes on, but it's fun to let the boys know what is coming up!

Here's our toy/school room. Just added some charts, no major updates since last year.

My mom gave me a table & chairs she had, and I repainted them for Ayden to use as his desk, while Caleb sits at the table & does his work.

Can you tell it's been summer and the boys have had some fun just drawing all over it? :)

So that about wraps up our school planning! I'm excited to start and see what God has for us for this year! I had never planned on homeschooling Caleb past K4, but God had other plans, so I'm rolling with it! :) Hoping & praying I can do it right!
